Temporary Business System Analyst
University Information Systems (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service and technical expertise. Through the development of enterprise applications, UIS supports the University as a whole with systems used by students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.
The Temporary Business System Analyst position exists to support CU Student Information Systems (CU-SIS), including student (Campus Solutions), degree audit (u.achieve), and international student/scholar management (ISSM) applications. This position works with application managers and developers to troubleshoot incidents, shepherd configuration and development, and perform regression testing. The Temporary Business System Analyst is responsible for liaising with stakeholders to gather business requirements, create functional design specifications and test plans, and facilitate changes. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Systems and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.
*Temporary Employment:*You will not receive any benefits coverage, nor will you accrue any paid leave. Length of assignments may vary, but all temporary appointments are limited to a nine-month employment term, with a four-month waiting period before being eligible for temporary employment again.
*_Duties and Responsibilities:_*
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Analyzing, troubleshooting and tracking issues within student information system, degree audit, and international student/scholar management applications (30%)
* Working with users and application managers to gather business requirements, create functional design specifications, test plans, and perform regression testing (25%)
* Maintaining documentation (5%)
* Testing application patches and upgrades (10%)
* Providing application production support as needed (5%)
* Reviewing application release notes and performing impact analysis (5%)
* Liaising to 3rd party vendors (20%)

To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:
* Knowledge of Information Technology systems and support practices
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively on concurrent projects
* Excellent written and oral communications and organization skills.

*Salary:* The compensation offered for this position is $24.00 per hour.
*_Minimum Qualifications:_*
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
* Two (2) years' experience working in higher education
* One (1) year professional experience to include the following:
o Working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
o Analyzing and troubleshooting software application issues
o Testing software application changes

* Two (2) years' experience performing business analysis in higher education
* Experience working at a multi-campus university
* Experience working in a university registrar's office
* Experience writing test plans
* Experience using a SQL tool
* Experience working with CollegeSource degree audit software
* Experience working with international student/scholar administration (e.g. PeopleSoft/ISSM/Sunapsis)
